“Before you speak, let your words pass through three gates: Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind?”
- Buddha
Hi, I’m Holly - certified coach, Breathworks mindfulness facilitator and writer of these Wellbeing Wednesday resources round-ups. 💖 I hope you enjoy them!
My mission is helping you to lead a more mindful, meaningful life, full of zest and zen. Come on in and join our supportive Zestful Zen community. ✨
Look
Sometimes, it can be grounding looking backwards - reminiscing about times gone by, experiences we’ve had, places we’ve been, people we’ve known. Happy memories, but also an opportunity to reflect on what we learned, and how we grew and moved forwards. I said goodbye to Brussels on Sunday, and now that I’m back in London I’ve been drawn to gazing at this lovely watercolour. My colleague kindly painted it for me, when I moved away from Yokote City, where I first lived in Japan in my twenties, teaching English. While I love looking through old photos, there’s something so special about having a familiar scene captured in a unique artwork. It always makes me smile as I picture my “furusato” or old hometown.
Listen
I’m a big fan of Stompcast, where podcast host Dr Alex George and his guests take a walk outside while having insightful conversations. There are loads of great episodes to choose from, but for today, I’ll recommend Pt3: Try These 6 Things For Optimum Hormonal Health, with nutritionist and author Hannah Alderson. (Note: Conversations are always split into 3 episodes, which you can listen to in order, or as standalone episodes. You might like to start with Pt 1: Why Your Hormones Aren’t Made for the Modern World.)
Watch
In Do You Talk to Yourself? Here’s How to Harness Your Inner Voice, neuroscientist Ethan Kross shares three tools, and explains how to use our internal chatter to overcome doubt, enhance focus and transform well-being.

June crept up all of a sudden! If like me, you’re a little stunned to discover we’re almost halfway through 2025, grab a cuppa and a notebook and take some time to pause and reflect using ’s fantastic prompts in I wasn’t expecting this… but I said yes. There are so many great questions to tackle and inspire.
Ask
In Saturday’s post, I wrote about the bittersweetness of saying goodbye and moving onto new adventures, whilst feeling some things are left undone. You can read the full post here:
Some questions you could reflect on:
What does home mean to you?
How do you feel about goodbyes? Is there something you’d like to say bye to?
What do you want to prioritise, right now? How can you make it happen?
What would you like to add to your 2025 bucket list?
How can you make space for more choice in your life?
Do
Follow your flow. You might have noticed this post was published a little later than usual. I moved countries a couple of days ago (back to London) and I’ve found that my best laid plans have largely gone out the window as I deal with an energy dip. I wrote a checklist, in “priority order”, but instead I’m leaning into what my body and soul are telling me to do - so far that’s included more sleep than usual, getting outdoors, exercising and mindful movement. My laptop can wait as I follow my intuitive flow. What is yours telling you to shift towards, or to jettison?

I had to do a double take on the illustration this week, Holly. It reminded me of my own Japanese furusato and drawing style!
