This was inspiring, especially the part about intentionally living seasonally. Did you read the Pep Talk post by Maggie Smith about taking risks and editing things out of your life that don’t matter? I loved it.
Thanks very much Holly, I'm glad you enjoyed this post! How do you find seasonal living shows up for you? Thanks for the tip on Maggie's post, I'll check it out. 💖
I reverse hibernate in winter, like I'm the opposite of a little bear! My writing group had a prompt about winter rituals a while ago, and this is part of what I wrote:
"Winter is a time that makes me crave a fresh start. Maybe because the cold and dark feel restrictive, so I push back by pushing forward. I want to know what’s next, what’s coming, what’s possible.
All that time tucked in inside is fine, but when it’s over, I want something to HAPPEN.
This dark time of year gives me a back-to-school feeling, like I need to get organized and get going. Should I take a class or plan a trip? Paint the walls? Learn to sing?"
Nothing big has emerged this year (like moving across the country or getting a dog) but I'm extra-energized for sure!
Sorry for the late reply! That's so interesting that winter has such an energising effect on you and I love how you've written about it. I feel like when I was younger I might have been the same, but right now I crave cosy blankets instead 😆 Once the sunnier days arrive, that's when I'll be bursting to do more. Hope you're finding fun ways to use all your energy!
