June Rejuvenation #3: Creative Inspiration
Caving to your creative soul’s cravings
Hi friends! Welcome back to June Rejuvenation. Our theme this week is Creative Inspiration.
If like many Europeans you’ve been experiencing a heatwave this week, I hope you’ve had plenty of downtime and the sweatiness hasn’t sapped your creative spirit.
What does creativity mean to you? Or creative inspiration?
Hi, I’m Holly, a certified coach and Breathworks mindfulness facilitator. I’m here to help you lead a life full of zest, zen, and purpose. Come join the supportive Zestful Zen community. ✨
When I decided to spend my third week of this reset focusing on creative inspiration, I’d pictured myself exploring galleries and photo exhibitions, admiring the artistry, and being inspired to create something of my own…
I did indeed see an exhibition, but my muse has mainly taken me to unexpected places.
Rather than feeling pulled to sit down make something, I’ve had an overwhelming urge to curate my environment and to let my imagination and intuition wander.
So that’s the path I took.
Creative curating
With several sweaty hours of effort, I tidied up my little patio, installing a new hazel hurdle fence and repurposing the old trellising to disguise my breeze block wall.
New plants will have to wait for the temperature to drop!
Then I went a little crazy, spending two peak heatwave days walking back and forth to various shops (14km just yesterday!) All to gather myself a little indoor jungle and a collection of pretty pots to put them in.
The sensible part of me had argued that I should wait until the rest of my furniture and belongings arrive.
But my creative soul won, and I spent some delightful hours matching pots to plants and arranging them around my home.

A surge of energy helped me blitz through my living room and kitchen, finding creative ways to better arrange stuff so there’ll be enough space to accommodate everything that will arrive next week.
There’s something deeply pleasing about seeing all the space freed up, picturing what will go where when the boxes appear.

Career and life coaching to overcome obstacles and achieve your personal goals.
Mindfulness courses: build mind-body connection, lower stress, be more present.
Beautiful brainstorming
Beyond physically creating, it’s been an exciting time of imagining too.
Brainstorming business possibilities, exploring how I build my Substack community, and considering collaborations, book ideas and maybe even a podcast.
I’ve turned my creative vision towards my own life too – planning how I want to work as a solopreneur (with balance, passion and freedom) and who I want to be in this next phase of my life.
Doing this work in the park has been a joy: exactly the kind of lifestyle option I’ll have available to me once I’ve quit my 9-5 and taken the leap into self-employment.
Joyful journalling
I’ve been diving into ’s Time to Thrive journal, which is helping me decide how I want to manage my 5 energy zones.
It’s been enlightening noticing which have already shifted since I finished my previous role, and reflecting on where my danger zones will be once I go back to the office next month.
I also enjoyed listening to guide me through an inspiring visualisation and prompts on listening to our intuition (available to paid subscribers).
It feels like these guiding stars appeared at the perfect moment as my transition comes closer.
Happy hunting
Although I allowed my muse to lead the way, I couldn’t resist dipping into one of ’s Creative Sparks for a fun prompt today. And as always, she delivered!
I went on a little treasure hunt for letters in unexpected places. I didn’t manage to tick off the whole alphabet, but it entertained my curiosity nicely.

Rejuvenation results
With one more week of leave left, I’m feeling like me again. The old me, from before I took on a role that disenchanted me.
It’s been a great experiment, going through this reset.
I could’ve jetted off on a holiday instead, but my instinct told me that what I needed was to just settle myself back into London life. At my own pace, without a new job to deal with.
I’m glad I made that choice.
My first week was one largely of recovery, but now I’m raring to go and excited about life and work prospects.
But I won’t get too carried away, as next week’s all about spending time in The Zen Zone! ✨
